Yet another project management software?
There are indeed many other solutions in project management, both in the opensource world as in proprietary softwares. Most of them are designed for managers, while developers have their own task management tools. There are finally very few solutions that make the bridge between the two worlds. The Manager must go fishing for information and feed the data to his management tools manualy. This is daunting and tedious, thus, data is not frequently updated. In addition, approximations are made during the data input which makes it difficult to assess the margin of error (you’d be surprised!).
Other open source tools are positioned in this market. They are able to manage tasks, do basic timetracking and muster progress indicators, yet neither provide a real timesheet to enter the complete week activity and evaluate the information. So there is a need for a tool that can be used by developers on a daily basis to transmit the information to the manager, and enable precise project follow-up in realtime.
